Urofollitropin, also named as Urine Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), is a composition whose main component is follicle-stimulating hormone.

 

 

 

In highly-purified urine follicle-stimulating hormone, the FSH content can reach more than 95%, and it contains almost no luteinizing hormone (Luteotropic Hormone, or LH).

FSH can promote the proliferation of granulosa cells, stimulate steroidogenesis, and regulate the development and maturation of gametocytes. It is one of the most important hormones in the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.

It can promote the differentiation of stromal cells around follicle cells into two layers of vesicular cells: inner and outer and synthesize luteinizing hormone receptors.

It also has the effect to promote the proliferation of follicular granulosa cells, activates the aromatase system in the granulosa cells, so that androgens can be converted into estrogen.

Apart from the influences mentioned above, HP-FSH can also promote the secretion of follicular fluid, and gradually increase the follicular cells.

 

 

 

FSH is mainly aimed at the field of infertility caused by ovulation disorders.

Also, it is widely used in assisted reproductive technologies such as artificial insemination and IVF.

The difference between this product and HMG is that HP-FSH only contains FSH and does not contain LH.

FSH has the effect of regulating menstrual cycle and ovulation. In men, it has effect of regulating male testicular function in humans.

Clinically, it is commonly used to treat female infertility, insufficient secretion of male gonadotropins, as well as defects of seminal tubules.
